Chapter 3 : Monteverde, Costa Rica
The Third and final stop in Costa Rica was in the Cloud Forest of Monteverde. A cloud forest is a rain forest at a much higher elevation. This was by far the smallest town we stayed in but had some incredible things to offer. The food at the resturant was actually very good. All of the other places that we had been didn't have good food. The staple in Costa Rica is rice with black beans in it, we expected tacos and burritos (shows what we know). We took a few hikes though the forest and even swung on a huge vine (I couldn't leave until I did it!). We defiantly had to stop by the local heladaria and get some ice cream!
The highlight of the trip was the ZIP LINE CANOPY TOUR. 12 lines with the longest over 1/2 a mile. We were zipping through the canopy at 40MPH hanging from a cable 430ft in the air. It was awesome!
